Creaking noise after car is shut off S40-V40

Recently I have been hearing a rather loud creaking noise that is present after the car has been turned off. It lasts for about 7-10 seconds and then ceases. I initially thought it was the lowering, but I have heard it with the antenna in the up position and with the down postion at the time of turning the car off. Has anyone else heard this or something similar?
