Trip computer must be screwed, MPG and Miles Remaining makes no sense. S70

I'll fill up my S70T5 and squeeze every last drop I can into the tank. Then go on a long trip and run the tank near dry. I'm talking right on the line. Well the Trip Computer says I have 110 miles or something like that on the last gallon or two gallons of gas left in my tank. In the meantime it says I got 24mpg or so on the rest of my gas. So if I'm getting 24 mpg that should mean I have 4 gallons left in the tank but I don't because I know how big the tank is and when I fill it I calculate that there's only a gallon left in there.

What's up??
