PNP switch 850 1996

The failure mode is fairly "good" in that you can go for some time
with it broken. We drove ours for about 4 months. Towards the end, the
transmission would more frequently lock into third gear (limp home
mode). We could work around this by letting the car warm up then
turning off ignition and restarting to get it out of limp home mode.

Personally, I avoid any major work before a long trip. I'd want to
fix it and drive it locally for a week or two before a trip.
