Tranny Light 'Arrow' Flashing

I bet the weather was a bit cold, too. The first cold day
typically triggers this. Most likely the PNP switch. The good
news is it fails kind of slowly but sooner or later you have to
replace it. In some case, the transmission will lock into 3rd gear
(limp home mode) and turning off the car and restarting should
clear that (until the day that just won't work). The part is about
$90 and 2-3 hours labor to replace. http://volvospeed.com/bay13.htm
has replacement instructions for th edo-it-yourselfer.
