engine 'chokes' during acceleration 850 1992

I'm driving a 92 850 glt with manual transmision.
Recently I experienced some problems. When I try to accelerate, the engine immediately losses power and almost completely "chokes". I'm able to drive it only if I accelerate really slowly. The same also occurs in idle running - when pushing the gas pedal quickly the engine "chokes". I am however able to drive normaly at constant speed (even high speed).
I checked the ECU fault codes, but no fault codes are given for the ignition and fuel systems. I also cchecked the condition of the spark plugs and they seem to be OK too.
What could be the reason for my problems?
Thanks for any help.
