DIY rear bumper cap (skin?) removal/repair? V70-XC70

I was wondering if anyone had any experience and advice on removing the plastic bumper cap (skin?) off of a (first generation) V70? I backed up into a fence post the other day and put a little indentation in the bumper cap. I was hoping to remove the cap and heat up the indented area with a heat gun, and then press out the indentation. However, I have no idea how involved it is to remove the bumper cap.
