Anyone have a Toyota/Lexus? 850 1995

Hello,

I was curious if anyone had a Lexus ES 300 or any lexus car here. I have had alot of high repair bills with my 850, and come to the conclusion that I can't afford this car and its repair bills. I was thinking of getting this model of Lexus, and been doing some research on it.

Toyota/Honda have great realibility according to Consumer Reports, and from what I have experienced from friends who have them. As you probably know Toyota is the parent corporation of Lexus, and so the quality is even higher. One of my goals in buying the 850 is that it would be reliable, but it hasn't been for me or anyone that I know. So it seems that buying a toyota/lexus would be the more reliable route.

I will miss the good qualities of the 850. Its power, comfort and safety come to mind. It just isn't financially possible for me to face unknown expenses like i have faced. For example, i have replaced the AC twice at a tune of $1500, the rear oil seals and system had to be fixed at $3000, and various other items. I don't abuse the car or drive it much, and I have been learning that this model seems to have design defects. I am at about 115,000 and the thought of what expensive part might go next is not a good feeling to have.

So what has everyones experiences with Toyota/Lexus been?

Thanks.
Brian
