Alloys-How big can i go? 400 1994

Hi People.
I need some advice. I have a `94 440 2.0i SE. Im having lowering springs fitted next week that will drop the car 40mm. In the future, i would like to fit a set of alloys. Ive got my eye on some TSW Evo R`s- They are 17"`s with a set of 205/40 profile tyres. Will this be too big for my car? I`d like to not have any rubbage, but will this be achieveable with 17`s? I still want to be able to have people in the back of the car as well as my stereo in the boot. Will 17"`s be too big? Will i have to go down to 16"`s? Any help on this matter would be greatly appreciated. Cheers, Dan.
