Changing the oil 850

remove the bottom splash gaurd-black plastic bottom cover.

oil filter is easy to get to and change- i only use volvo oil filters. they are made by Mann. on passenger side of car. tighten the filter hand tight then 1/2 turn to make snug does require a oil filter wrench to tighten.

oil since my car is a turbo i use mobil 1 5-50w red cap
non turbo then you can use a 10-40w synthetic or synthetic blend is good.

drain plug is on back of oil pan, there is a copper or aluminum crush washer that must be changed. get it from volvo.

tourque on oil drain?? i do not remember but do not overtighten it since the pan is aluminum it can be stripped out. make it snug than just a little more to tighten- 1/2 turn maybe that is all it takes

easy to do, takes about 15 minutes to remove cover, drain oil and change filter.

the hardest part is jacking up the car.

Dan
