Heater core replacement (?) 850 1995

Bob,

I'm right behind you. My heater core⏯] is becoming marginal.

If you type " heater core " in Google you get tons of results.

Why is there an epidemic of heater core failures?

Is it because of the coolant is losing it's anti-corrosive properties?

I did a search on BB and someone said, allthough a coolant's
thermal protection properties do not degrade over time the anti-corrosive properties do. They then went on to say to add a conditioner to the original coolant.

Anyone know what conditioner this person may have been talking about.
It may help many in the future.
