Adding Distilled Water to Battery Question??

I checked my battery this morning and found that each
cell electrolite level was very low on each cell
so I added a small amount of DI water to each cell
just to bring me back in the ballgame.

How much water do I add? It is hard to tell from
the pic in the manual. There is a little lip at
the bottom of the entrance tube. [about 2" down]
Do I add water to the level of this lip?

I am sure this info will help others also.
