Timing Belt Changed..Total Cost Given. 850

Hi All,

I thought some people might be interested in the price to change a timing belt on a 1995 850. Like many on this board, I have found that most dealers suck, although there are a few good ones out there. I have found a crack Volvo mechanic in my area of NH who has been working on Volvos since the early 70s.

I just had my timing belt replaced at 120,000.

Total Cost: $131.60

Breakdown of Costs:

Belt: $35.00 (Yes, OEM but from Alt. Parts Distributor..Says Volvo, made by Continental who makes Volvo Belts)

Labor 2.30 Hours @ $41.00

I have seen alot of people complain about the cost of Volvos. The reality is any European car can be expensive, Audi, VW, BMW have owned them all.

Anyway, hope this helps..Would be great to have a section on the board for repair costs.
