Adding Distilled Water to Battery Question??

You add water until the electrolite just touches the lip you see.

If you shine a light into the cell, you will notice that the low electrolite surface looks flat. When the electrolite touches the lip, surface tension causes the electrolite to form a cup-shaped surface.

This sudden change from flat to cup-shaped is easy to see, and is used by most battery manufacturers.

I like to charge the battery whenever I add water.

I have had little luck with batteries that show a deep drop in electrolite level, don't be too surprised if you have a battery failure in the near future
