Car Cuts out!!!!!! S80

Hi guys,

I fianlly convinced my father in-law to get his own volvo, so he bought a 99 S80, with low km's and in beautiful shape. He picked the car up on friday (from a dealer) and experienced a Gremlin the very next day. While travelling on the highway at about 120km's, the car just completly died 100% for about 5 seconds. It was so quick, he said you could have missed the entire thing, however the lights, and radio, and power completly went dead. The car has been returned to delaer, however they have been unalble to find the problem so far. Is there anything common about this problem? OR are there any other problems I should advise of before he kills me? I have never had a problem with my volvo..as username suggests its a 97 855 SE. Any advise to keep the in-laws at bay?????
