440 1.7i Engine same as R19? 400 1991

Dear Arno.

Thank you for all the advice you have give over the last week or so. I have learned a lot!
The problem I have is money, (or the lack of it). I am a student, and so have to survive on a part time job.
I see the 440 as a good, solid reliable car and, being a young lad, I want a bit more performance out of it. Do you know of any cheap ways of squeezeing more power out of this magnificent car?
The suspension is very soft. In fact, when I have a full car (4 people and luggage), my tow bar actually scrapes on bumps on the road.
www.eurcarparts.com offer a STREETLINE SPORTS suspension kit at £200 (about €340). What do you think? Each kit contains: 4 x Bilstein 'Original' gas shock absorbers plus 1 x lowered and uprated spring kit.

All the best

Rich
