Volvo for Life? S70 1998

We have a 95 855 GLT and 98 S70 T5M and both are about the same in
terms of these sorts of problems (850's headliner has fallem out, air
bag cover curled up, rear hatch shock won't hold it up, many rattles,
rear door panel faling off, PNP switch, upper motor mount, holes wear
in carpets at certain point, child seat can't be folded back, etc).

On my 98 I have not had any suspension problems. The steering column was
completly re-designed for 98. The squeek can be removed with some grease
on the rubber boot where the column passes through the firewall. The
throw-out bearing is more of a concern and really bothers me, too.

Volvos have a lot of nagging problems. I think this leads to the love em
or hate em feelings (or the love/hate feeling) people have for their
Volves. Our cars heve never left us stranded, failed to start or had
a major mechanical failure -- just a lot of small problems.
