Just the opposite with me... 850 1997

I bought my 97 850-R new and have had zero problems. A temperature sensor for the heater control went out, but Volvo covered it under warranty. I too have gone the Japanese route with an 84 Mazda 626 with 185,000 miles and still running strong when I sold it, "BUT", it's quality can never match the Volvo I have now. And knowing what I know now, I won't go with Japanese cars any more simply because they sound tinny when you shut the door, even if they run strong.

I am sorry to hear that you had problems at such an early mileage.
