Turbo Rebuild: DIY or Professional? 850

My turbo is in need of a rebuild. I think it only needs the bearings replaced. Has anyone done this repair themselves? Did you need any specialized tools? Did you have to get it balanced? Would you do it again or recommend that others go with a professional shop?

If anyone has had one rebuilt professionally, who did you use? Would you recommend them to someone else? What was done and what was the cost? How long did the shop keep it?

Enough questions. thanks
