Winter Tires on T5 S70 1998

I have a 1998 S70 T5 currently equipped with Dunlop SP Sport 5000 Assymetrical tires (205/55-16). I think they're great tires. I had them in very light snow in Chicago briefly, and found their snow performace acceptable.

I recently moved to Boulder, Colorado (College student) and this past weekend I was driving up to the mountains for a ski weekend. Anyway, the conditions on the way up were, well, horrific. During the drive we passed numerous cars off on the side of the road, either by choice, or from spinning, sliding, or otherwise. While I was able to make the drive, it got very scary in places as the heavy torque and manual transmission made wheelslip at starts very prevalent. Not to mention a general lack of control and slippage. One banked uphill road had my car sliding down towards the shoulder the entire time, I had to drive sideways! This was a new experience for me as I'm used to Chicago, where there are very few hills, banks, etc. (Sure, we get plenty of snow, though).

To get to my point (finally) I'm looking into purchasing a set of winter tires/wheels for my car. I've been looking around a little and was curious what other S70 drivers have put on and used on their own cars and what they've thought about them. From what I understand the size I should get is 195/65-15 as the narrower tires and taller sidewalls will make driving int he snow and ice easier.

However, I also saw the Dunlop Winter Sport M2, and thought that those tires, in the OEM size of 205/55-16 might be a better fit for the high performace and high torque of my manual T5.

Thanks for all opinions! Thanks!
