Is there any value in my HUGE investment? V70-XC70

I have had my 98 v 70 for 11 mos.The drivers door lock just quit and I have a bad rattle( like a loose hood prop rod ) on the passenger side. Only problems so far(107 k). After reading all this forum, I am becoming quite ill----is there any value other than nice looks and good seats to my investment(over three fold than I have ever spent before). I hear nothing but some pretty svere problems . Do other owners sites have these many complaints? Is this car of mine going to be a special feature of the cars to avoid? My father's domestic's do not seem to need a nickle. My friends late 80's Cavaleir has been in the shop once(other than brakes, tune ups etc.).The 91 Lexus of my neighbor, with 260 k looks at me with bewilderment when I ask about his repair record.I bought the V for the same reasons you other european car lovers did but, my goodness, we seem to have a vastly greater proportion of problems. Please , someone encourage me with some sound reasoning. My only hope is Volvo owners are enthusiasts who love to talk(hence the volume of writers) and the compaints are in fact no greater than Japanese, other european or domestic cars if they had a similar forum as this and had the same passion as us. Please say it is so.
