ditchin radio

To get the code for your radio, they say you need to call the dealer and they have to retrieve it.

that's not always true. I had work done on my 850 and picked it up again at the start of a roadtrip. To do the work they had to disconnect the battery, disabling the radio.

We just called the number in the manual for the car, explained that we were heading out for a long drive and wanted the radio. They asked us a few questions to verify that we were the owners and then gave us the number. It literally took two minutes.

I don't remember what they asked but it was the usual stuff that you know but others don't have access to.

If you have the manual, try that.
