Intermittent Starting Problem- Bad Starter??

hi! Nathan I had the same problem (matallic sound), no your starter is not goin is just a little dry... what i mean it needs oiling at the bendix, i went to all the trouble of removing the unit and realized that was nothing wrong wiht the starter my is a 93 same unit , there are two little holes in tha unit itself a little hard to find but they are there go to your auto store and buy some lithium grease in a can , and just spray it in the little holes....that will fix it , as far as the battery problem all i can say make sure your connections are very clean and tight
