Sticking valve

I have a 98 V70R AWD. I have notice in the past three months that I am getting a ticking sound form the engine. I believe that a valve is sticking. The dealr has stated the sound is witrhin acceptable tolerances. I disagree. Is there anything other than add an oil cleanerjust prior to changing the oil, and changing the weight of the oil form 10w30 to 5w30 (synthetic of course) that I can do to make this noise go away?

Thanks
Delgado
