Air circulation damper motor

I believe this is a defective design. Most of us have replaced at least one, maybe two or three of these linkage arms when they break. You are correct in that the shaft rotation exceeds the amount of travel necessary in the linkage, and that binding occurs at one or both ends. You may try flipping around the way you install the linkage - sometimes I find one way is more stable than the other.
