Air pump-Adding a drain hole

Yes, that is the best way of preventing flooded or frozen pump. I did it last summer with no adverse effects. All you need to do is drill 1/8"dia hole at the lowest point of its housing. You will need to remove the pump to do it. Check www.volvospeed.com for info on pump removal.
