Electrical Charging problem 850 1997

My 850 is normally aspirated, has about 83,000 miles. My battery is less than 2 years old. It just got really cold a couple of days ago. I have been keeping my car outside. The other morning, it wouldn't start (after being in the garage all night). Had lights & radio, though. Hooked up cables to my wife's car, and immediately the fuel pump kicked in. Without starting the booster vehicle, I tried starting the 850, and it did no problem. I immediately drove over to AutoZone to get my free replacement (<2 years, no pro-rated stuff), and they tested it. The battery had plenty of charge, however, my alternator was only registering a little over 10V. After I started it, it took a good 15 seconds for the alternator to rise to about 13.5V. According to the sales guy, it should have jumped up much quicker. He thinks there may be a short, or something that draws a current while the car is off, and is enough to prevent the car from starting. Also, my trunk latch hasn't worked in about a month. Since the locks are power, I wonder if my trunk problem is related. Any advice?
