can i change the low-beam bulb on my 2000 v40 myself?

It's the same.. That's why it's a rubber cap.. You can squeeze/pull it to remove or reinstall it. Just take care it's seated properly all around when reinstalling.

Actually I find that side easier to change, but european S/V40's don't have the extra cover over the battery (it's 'bare'), so may have just a tad more room.
