Air pump failure symptoms V70-XC70 1998

I would install 5W30.
As to the pump, you can either remove and connect it to a battery to check if it's running, or you can find its relay and power it without removing. The first method allows you to check for water, drain the pump, and drill 1/8" dia hole at the bottom of the pump to prevent any future condensation accumulation inside.
