What is this port do, can I use it for programming the computer???? 850 1994

BOGDEN,

THIS IS THE OBDII SCANNING PORT. IT WHERE YOU HOOK UP A SCAN TOOL TO READ THE CODES IN BOTH COMPUTERS UNDER THE HOOD. THE LEFT COMPUTER IS THE ENGINE CONTROL UNIT(ECU) AND THE RIGHT COMPUTER IS FOR THE TRANSMISION CONTROL UNIT (TCU).

YOU CAN USE THIS TO FLASH PROGRAM THE ECU BUT THE TOOLING REQUIRED IS MOST LIKELY UNOBTAINABLE.

I HABE THE SCAN TOOL FROM WWW.OBD2.COM AND IT HOOKS UP TO A LAPTOP AND THIS PORT IN THE CAR TO READ AND CLEAR CODES, IT WILL ALSO RESET THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT AND THE SERVICE ENGINE LIGHT.
