Mike- I'm sure there is an aft. market solution for this issue; I saw it in a car mag a while back; maybe a yahoo or goggle search on the net may reveal it. try "auto warning systems" or "audio/audible signals for cars", etc. Anyways, SteveF solution won't work in our 850s cause I semi-close the door all the time and the dome-lights go out, even thou the door is still open. It's just one of the things that Volvo dropped the ball on in our cars. I say double check just to be sure!!! BD
