850R RELIABILITY 850 1997

You can't get any more reliable in the 850 series than a '96 or '97. Actually, a '97 854 GLT would be ideal or if you're performance oriented, the '97 855R is real sweet. Other than the FEW(5-10) "common" annoyances(by common I mean 50-60% of owners seem to have the same problem), it's above average in reliability(as proven by CR-Best used cars. Note The most important thing about buying used, is to get one that was well maintained. some say buy only if see/get all service records. I say use common sense and have a good mechanic check it over b/4 purchase. IMO, on a scale of 1-5 stars, I would rate the 96-97 850R "XXXX", five being excellent. So, I'd say it's a VERY GOOD car reliability wise. Just for the record, performance wise it's "XXXXX", no questions asked. hope your R is one of them Red ones with the tan leather interior. perfect for christmas!all the best, BD
