I wanted to put a remote car starter in my wife's 2001 XC for XMAS. I called my local dealer and asked the service department if they would recommend a particular brand. They told me not to put one in it, that the electronics were too sophisticated and they cause problems. They further told me that other customers had spent 1000s of dollars trying to get their car straightened out after installing them. I find this quite disappointing, we bought the car because of it's winter capability, our previous car had a remote starter and my wife loved it. Has anyone had any experience with this vehicle and remote starters? Thanks, Fred J.
