Rear Taillights/Brakelights - '98 S70 T5 - Always go out ??? S70

For some reason, my rear taillights, or sometimes the brakelights, just don't turn on when I turn on the car. I go out and tap the rear lense from the outside and voila, they work again. This is real frustrating because the bulbs aren't bad, the test light shows power but they are real quirky.

Is this a common problem? Can I fix it?
