ABS Controller - Can We Live Without It?

My 99' c70 is just about 4 years old now. I have no
ABS problems with my car now but was wondering
if it's possible to live without the ABS controller.
I drive as slow as a turtle and leave 20 car lengths
in front of me.

1- What are the cons of driving with the controller
out of action?

2- Are there any state inpspection concerns? [ NY ]
Will car pass inpsection without it.


I see that people on the board have even had their
replacement controllers go after a short time. Not good.

Volvo just called me for the usual service eval. They asked
if I would buy another Volvo. I said yes, if the ABS controller
issue gets resolved. Hope my input is heard by corporate!
