Explain this (seemingly) strange claim by an ebay seller of an 855R 850

From ebay:

"I used to sell these cars when they were new. They are quite rare and therefore were unaffordable to me until I came across this high mileage example. I have owned the car for eight months. It was my dream car, but a job change has forced me into the need for a truck (blah). These cars are good for the mileage - the R's only week spot is the transmission and that has already been addressed on this car (they are really only 242hp for five seconds at full throttle then the computer backs off the turbo because Volvo knew their transmission wouldn't hold up to the power for long bursts)."

I'd like to know if there is any validity to this? This is out of pure curiosity; I own a 744T.
