throgh out bearing question

Has ayone had problems with their through out bearing squealing? if so is it a sign of immenent failure requiring an urgent repair or can I put it off untill after the holidays?

My '98 s70T5M has reciently developed a squeal at idle. I thought it was the acessory belt, but the noise did not go away when I replaced the belt. After replacing the belt noticed that the squeling is much worse when the clutch is depressed. I have always had the problem reported on the board with the scraping noise when letting the clutch out in 1st gear which seems to be getting worse. So I am wondering if the bearing is about to give up the ghost. The car only has 55K on it so it is distrubing that the bearing is going so soon.
