Semi metalic brake pad what does it mean ? any good S40-V40

I just buy a set of front brake pad for 23.00 rear 37.00 at Kragen they said it is a semi metalic brake pad...

the saving it great come pair to what dealer want for it ...

can one explain what is the different ?? I know semi is not 100% but is it better to have 100% metalic pad or semi...
