Transmission slipping in park position V70-XC70 1998

My 98 V70R is slipping when I stop and put in park if I am on an incline. It will roll backwards a couple of inches, stop and roll again before it catches. If I put on the emergency brake first this doesn't happen. My mechanic said that there aren't any adjustments that can be done on this transmission for the Park gear.

Has anyone else experienced this? Any suggestions?
