code 222 850 1993

In Nov. 2001, I had the PNP (code 313) replaced. Recently, I had the dreaded up arrow flashing again. This time the cause is code 222, the S2 solenoid. Is this difficult to replace? The dealer is trying real hard to sell me a reman transmission. The first "treatment" was to flush the transmission which removed the up arrow for about three days. Tne second attempted repair was checked all loom leads from the TCM to the GPS for continuity: no fault found. Checked all grounds in the ciruit and all are fine. Code did not return after test drive. The S2 solenoid has higher than spec ohms. Drove the car for two more days and the up arrow is back. Driving does not seem affected; shifting is normal, i.e., no "limp mode" or remaining in third gear. Any solutions?
