Factory Alarm 850 1996

I have an 1996 850 GLT wagon and it has a factory alarm system. when i push the lock and unlock button the car responds correctly. My question is that should the car's alarm horn sound or even the lights flashing to comfirm that the car is locked or unnlocked? if i accidently set off the alarm, should i be able to turn it off with the remote? Is it easy to put an alarm from an 1997 850 into an 1996 850? where can i get a used roof rails and other acessories for a wagon? the junk yard search i've done came up empty
