I think I have seen manuals at one of the sites like volvoparts. You may also want to try a Volvo recycler like Erie Volvo. You can also get reprints from Volvo. I recall there being a light or something on the dash on my '94 when cruise is engaged. I know very little about how cruise control works. When the amber up arrow is on that means you have winter engaged. You should notice slower starts in third gear I think. If the light goes out when you press the button again and the tranny shifts normally you are okay. The check engine light and service indicator lights are different and are pretty obvious. If the up arrow flashes along with Sport/Economy/Winter indicator lights on the console then you have logged a fault code to do with the tranny.
