V 70 Reliabilty..............pre-'03s V70-XC70

Haldex wasn't used in the XC 70 until THIS year, '03 so every XC in previous years is subject to the same possible tire related ills if all 4 tires are not always the same. That also means to never use the included spare tire for more than a couple blocks at slow speeds, believe it or not.
There's no way any new Volvo can ever be considered as reliable as your older ones. For one thing, you'll eventually see the "check engine" light and with a newer car, that means trips to the dealer so it can be hooked up to a PC.
