cross drilled or slotted 850

My 854T is coming due for brakes.
Which is better for all year driving. Slotted or Cross Drilled.
I hear conficting stories with the two.
Cross drilled apparently in Winter climates can get a build up of snow and salt in the hole which can cause problems such a warping and break pad wear.
My discs right now are OEM from when I bought it about 6 months ago and the rears have a tad of rust. The car breaks well but I sometimes get a slight shimmy at low speeds. High speeds they seems loud.. (no squeeling or anything)
