Headlight out S80 2000

Is this headlight problem something specific to certain cars? It took 3 years and over 40,000 miles for the first bulb to burn out in my 2000 S80 T6. Then it was a simple and inexpensive matter to pick up a new bulb at the local auto parts store and pop it in. I was pleased with how easy the change was.

This is the best car I've ever owned. Why do so many portray it as Volvo's mistake and Volvo as a maker of troublesome cars? All the Volvo drivers I know personally really love their cars and have had little to no trouble with them. I don't exactly baby my cars and my 3 year old S80 has given me no trouble or unexpected expenses.
