Sparodic brake light failure 850 1997

I'm experiencing a strange problem w/my brake failure light on the dash: about 2-3 weeks ago the light would come on when I apply the pedal; so I had a friend see which light was out and it was the high-mounted one on the rear shelf. thing is, it would work fine some times and then not other times. so, I bought a new bulb and replaced; worked fine for a few days then, BAMM!!!, same problem. sometimes as I apply the brakes, the dash light is on(=brake light is not working) then it would go out(=it's working)---all at the same time. I checked the fuses and they are fine. My only reasoning is power is shorting-out to the lamp! Why and where, I don't know. Do you??? and how to find out for sure?? Anyone had this happen b/4??? thanks all, BD
P.S- did full brake service a few weeks ago, including flush fluid. The problem was happening b/4 this and continues to present. feel is fine and stoping is great.
