Fuel pump location? V70-XC70 1998

posted by  someone claiming to be A bum pump on  Fri Jan 10 06:36 CST 2003 [RELATED]

Can somebody tell me where the fuel pump is on a 98 cross country. The dealer took out my coworkers backseat and then told her that they needed to take out the fuel tank and the rear suspension to get at the fuel pump.

if the fuel pump is bad and its that much work to replace can she just disconnect the existing one and put in an after market one near the tank?
