V70 lowering results V70-XC70 2002

A couple weeks ago I posted the question of who had lowered their V70's. Well, I ended up using IPD sport springs. Installation was fairly easy. Only the front (stock) springs needed a spring compressor to get them out, the shorter springs went right in with just my weight was able to run the top shock nut down. On the rear springs, it took a little more work than the front ( I was surprised at this ) some of the rear suspension was under quit a bit of preload, so it took some jack stands and a jack to get things lined up to remove and reinstall pivot bolts. But no spring compressor was used for the whole rear job. In all the job took me about 6 hours, I could have cut at least an hour out if i had a manual (for the rear) as I didnt know what to take apart in what sequence.

Well as you can see in the picture, the looks are much better, it dropped it about an inch and a quarter, I think it makes the car look a ton better, specially with the 17" wheel's.

As for the ride, I really don't notice much difference from stock, just a tad bit tighter, but not harsh at all, I have been in some lowered cars that were just flat out to stiff, and that makes for a uncomfortable ride.

I have not had it aligned yet, as lowering can mess with the camber a bit.

Overall, I would recommend the IPD springs.
