Keyless entry system and remote 850 1996

No, both the keyless entry and alarm were options on the 96 base model 850. It was standard on the GLT model. My 93 850GLT has the keyless entry and alarm, but they were added as an accessory. The receiver for the remotes in 850's is located behind the glove box, on the right side. My 96 850 is pre-wired for the receiver, but it is not there. The receiver is a flat black box labelled ALPS. So you will need to buy the receiver and remotes from a dealer. I do not know if it is available without the alarm kit. The alarm kit also includes a relay, a new alarm latch for the hood, the dash LED, and alarm horn under the dash.
