The V70 was first sold as a 98 in U.S. market so looking at posts
for 97's on this brickboard will probably give you false information.

On my 98 S70 (build date from door sticker is January 1997) the
only way to reset it is using a special tool from Volvo
(www.ipdusa.com will also sell you one).

So, I would guess you can't reset it yourself.
