oil cap seepage mess 850 1995

Went to change the plugs and couldn't help but notice pools and pool of oil under the big cover that hides the plugs and wires. Cleaned it up and put a new rubber gasket on the oil cap(strong evidence of seepage from there). More oil after 2 hour drive. Squeezed down the tongs on the oil cap. Still oil....(1)New cap????...(2)will it make a difference?.....(3)why so much pressure there??....
(4) bigger problem??(motor strong...compression gasses blowing by valves and guides?)....Thanks .....Colt....1995 Turbowagon 90K
